So what makes a genre dead? Bands from every genre release stuff 24/7 so just this said genre may be in a slump doesn't make it dead. I've always found that to be an ignorant thing to say. Plus Jakob released a stunning album last year so idk.

idk saying *insert genre* is dead has always rubbed me the wrong way. Cause a lot of people, some more pretentious than others, say that because they think the older stuff is better. Meaning they can't jut take something for what it is without saying to themselves "oh this sounds too much like this." Maybe that doesn't apply to why he said it, if that's the case fair enough, but that's just my experience and why I don't like it

Chevelle? Nah, More on the side of a fuzz sound than a straight laced heavy crotch rock sound like Chevelle, nothing in common at all.

I think it's great record but each to their own.
