Never listened to him before but there seems to be quite a bit of hype over the new one (also it was produced by the amazing Blake Mills) so I'll be checking it out.

I recommend not starting with the new one actually. There's a clear trajectory to how he's developed as an artist and I'm afraid his earlier stuff might come across as too subdued and lacking in boldness if you start with No Shape.

Meh, I'm not really all that interested in getting into him as an artist, just this new album. Plus I can only take so much p4k-core art pop bs at once and there are a billion other albums out this week so by the time I get to the new one there will be more albums coming out and there are too many other albums already out and artists I'm also working on at the moment and I'm going to have very limited time to listen to music over the next month.

@Freddie I felt the same way first listen. Well not that extreme, but the second half felt weaker, but now wow that last stretch is beautiful. I'm living for Sides and Die 4 U and Alan. I wonder if anybody is planning to review it.

Just listened to the new album... I like songwriting on that a little more than on this, but production is spotty on most tracks and downright atrocious on some of em.
I dunno, gotta re-listen, but so far I'd say better than this, but still not that great.
