They're too busy jamming shitty music. Don't bother, it's their loss.

First track rules. Sound like a Candlemass cover band, but I'm not complaining.

" Imagine a similar but improved version of Martin-era Black Sabbath. "

Yeah the vocals do sound a bit like Tony Matin

Glad you dig it Nero.

If it wasn't for the recent love towards retro stuff they probably wouldn't have recorded this album in the first place. Makes me wonder how much great music has remained unreleased.

I'm enjoying this a lot, it's pretty accessible too.

Definitely. It has those catchy riffs and great vocals which you don't have to be a fan of doom metal to enjoy.

Most of traditional Metal is accessible anyway.

This is sweet, just a bit too power metally for me at points.

I can see where you're coming from. The few power metal elements is what makes it so enjoyable for me.

Mixing power and doom is hit or miss for me. Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus do it well, but for the most part I find too much power metal takes away from the doominess. This is still good though.

Since when epic doom became a combination of power and traditional doom ?

A lot of epic doom does have a power metal vibe.

Maybe so, but to my ears, power metal and epic doom are two totally different genres.

Well yeah, its just the vocals and lyrics that share similarities.

I'm afraid this is wearing off a bit. I think it's great but if we'll have to listen to a sophomore full length I'm hoping for it to be more adventurous and a bit less melodramatic (vocals fit though).

^^^Agree with this guy, it's good but also like...too safe. Gets boring quick.

I can see where you're coming guys but it's not the case for me yet. I'll probably jam this one again in a couple of months again because I over-listened to it for this review see how it feels.

I gave it a spin two days ago just to see if its effect had wear off. Before that, I hadn't listen to this for 1.5 month. Time didn't change anything, at least for me. This is a great album.
