Finally jamming this. Great stuff. It sounds simultaneously ahead of its time and yet very sixties. Check Sparks' debut, Fripp! It's a bit like this.

I do know Rundgren did produce their debut (Halfnelson/Sparks) and were on the Bearsville label for that before they signed with Island

Gotcha. I wasn't too impressed by Something/Anything, but this is the stuff. Of course he nicks the furry animals straight from Ummagumma, but I'll let that one slide.
