I have both CD's and i want to say Alexisonfire is an amazing band. I think a really unique thing about them is their lyrics, they got 3 totally different voices and they are jump from part to part using them which makes it sound awsome. Dallas also is a great singer out of the 3. I'd kinda hafta say i like watch out better than their self titled. The CD is worth getting and it is more tonned down abit. But some songs are mostly Dallas singing while other songs pick up with good ol' George screaming. In my opinion the best songs on that album are:

Control
It was fear of myself that made me odd
No transitory
Sharks and Danger
Get Fighted
Hppiness by the Kilowatt

I reccomend this album for the ppl who dont have it yet. ALEXISONFIRE ROCKS!!! :thumb:

if u like fast, heavy music like the self titled, you wont be pleased with this.

however, if you like something you can just relax and listen to, i suggest this cd. i prefer it much more than the self titled, because this cd has more than 2-3 sentences said through the whole song. i felt the self titled lacked "flow", but this cd definitely flows.

i'd give "watch out" a 4.5/5, only because some of the songs are just too "experimental", which didnt pay off in all cases.
If you're looking for that kind of music, check out the following bands. All are very underrated.

Across Five Aprils
The Calico System (I recommend "Love Will Kill All")
As Night Falls (Used to be called Nightfall. Their old singer/bassist plays in Atreyu now)
Well As Night Falls are unsigned, I highly doubt you'll be able to find them on Soulseek, unless it's off me. However, if you click the link that I gave it will take you to their Purevolume page, which has two of their songs...

I liked self-titled more, but thta's only because i'm into more hard stuff, i didn't like the backup vocals in this album much

The decrease in screaming is also somewhat necessary to save George's vocal chords at shows. After so long, anyone's voice will begin to go awry when they scream constantly.

I don't have the album yet, but I've heard enough to make me want to pick it up. I liked what I heard so far, and don't really have anything to put them down with so I won't try. I might post my thoughts once I've heard the whole album through.

I finally was able to pick up this album, after listening to it a bunch of times, I re-read your review and realised you had taken the words right out of my mouth. I agree with everything. Excellent review.

I had never really liked Alexisonfire....sure the music was cool and everything, but I just found the songs on their last album kind of boring.

But after reading this review I decided to download some tracks....and I was very pleasantly surprised. So I went out and bought the CD, and I'm loving it.

Great, fun music, something you can just put in your CD player and enjoy. This album seems soooo much better than the last one to me; I think the switch from Dallas supporting George to George supporting Dallas was totally the right move, and I even think George's screams have improved a lot since the last effort.

Anyways, I really reccomend this, and it seems like fans of any type of music could enjoy it. Sidewalk When She Walks is the bomb....check it out! :thumb:

This album will hopefully arrive today. I've heard: Accidents, Sharks and Danger, Side Walks when she walks and Get Fighter and I'm totally in love with these songs. Accidents took a while to grow on me as it was so different from their older stuff but now it's one of my favorite songs, not just from AOF.

Oh yeah Buddy, I read on the AOF boards that George just dances/sings along without the microphone at their shows but they still play lots of old songs. I'd really love to see them live one day, they are supposed to be one of if not the nicest band.

This is not my normal type of music, but I found it to be one of the most well done and well written albums I've heard in a long time. Can't really put it down.

You say their fast guitar licks were lacking? Listen to track 5 and while I agree that the cd is much tamer then their last I still think alexisonfire mixes their screaming/Dallas' singing/guitar riffs very well.

The self-titled is way better than watch out. I saw them at the warped tour this summer and George had nothing to do when the palyed songs from watch out.But he gives full to the fullest anyway. But a least they played half songs from self titled and other half from WO. Canada rulzz!!!!
