Maybe Pitts really didn’t do anything wrong, but what he and his defenders need to realize is
that allegations like this are deeply, deeply serious, and you can’t just go back to business as usual
afterward and be like “thank god that’s over.”

If you can untangle Pitts’s breezy guitar jams from his tangled story, go nuts, but you forfeit the
right to pass judgement on anyone else who does the same with musicians you may not like.

Probably the worst piece of music journalism I've ever read.

I don't see how you can compare Pitts to Chris Brown.

For that to happen Pitts would have to admit to domestic abuse, not give a shit at all about it, and then only write songs that say "FUCK DA HATERS I GET MONEY"

this album is nice

For their major label debut 'Pythons', Floridian quartet Surfer Blood refine their brand of indie/surf-rock to mixed results. Gil Norton's production has resulted in less rock & more pop 2nd time around, highlighting the sunny harmonies & sweet melodies which made debut LP 'Astro Coast' a winner. In doing so, however, less attention is paid to the music (especially the guitar), with nothing demanding multiple listens. While it's front-loaded, 'Pythons' is still a pleasant enough listen at a lean 34 minutes... It's just that there is a sense of cruise control about it all. Recommended Tracks: I Was Wrong, Demon Dance, Weird Shapes & Say Yes to Me.
