I just heard "Infa-Red" for the first time. In fact, it's the first time I've heard Placebo, and it really makes me want to pick up this album.

I adore placebo. This is a fantastic album, and a perfect example of how a band can mature their style without comprimisng quaility. Beautiful, unique and moving.

This album finally woke me up to how borderline emo Placebo is. I'm officially off their bandwagon.

What exactly does 'borderline emo' mean? What a stupid thing to say.

With respect Carolina, you have no idea what emo is.

I really actually love this album. I think its just that atmosphere that Placebo seem to have. Although this is really out of my normal listening tastes.

what the hell is a "borderline emo" thats got to be one of the most stupid things i ever heard. "Emo" has got to be the most overused word by people who have absolutely no idea what it means

This gets worse every time I listen to it. Some good tracks, though.

There are some absolutely amazing songs on this album. Meds, Drag, Follow the Cops Back Home, Pierrot the Clown and A Song to Say Goodbye. But there are two or three songs that let it down. If they mixed the best material from this record with that of Sleeping with Ghosts, like Plastercine, Special Needs, The Bitter End and English Summer Rain, they'd have achieved the perfect album.

I can't wait for their next offering.

Im re-listening to this for the first time since i bought it two years ago. Id forgotten how good a few of these songs are, like Meds and Follow The Cops Back Home. Dont like the one Michael Stipe is on at all though.

This is just phenomenal.. perfect mixture of material, infinitely listenable and cutting, faintly dark lyrics throughout. I don't agree with the comments that say this loses shine over time, if anything I think it grows, which is saying something considering how much I loved it on its first spin.

Can't wait for their new one. WYIN is probably my fav of their's, though this is the most consistant overall. Really hope they tour as well, as they're one of the best live bands I've seen.

Am I really the only one that thinks the singer has a HORRIBLE voice? I just can't listen to placebo because of him.

It's deifnitely an acquired taste. Not as much as some other vocalists though. This Message Edited On 02.13.09
