bump because
been compiling Siouxsie tunes into a mix
which b-sides/album tracks does everyone think are worth revisiting?
I love Switch and Monitor in particular
but I feel like the Banshees are a band where the singles have huge amounts of deliberate energy put into them whereas the album tracks are circular and partially improvised and it gets messy as heck
maybe that's a good thing I dunno

John Valentine really took this record to another universe. Like, the layers and layers of lush guitar parts are legendary.

Playground Twist and Placebo Effect because people sleep on Join Hands despite being arguably their most deliciously goth album tbh. Picked those two for catchiness, but Premature Burial and Regal Zone would be great cuts too

good chat

playground twist owns yeah
I'm not one of those BANSHEES WEREN'T goth people, I love goth and think Join Hands is cool

With "92 Degrees" followed by "Lands End", this has the strongest finale of all of the Banshees' releases.
|
| |
yeah juju kinda loses steam towards the end but this is all killer no filler
