Nausicaa is just as great as the rest, though some of the supporting characters are lacking. I need to get on Grave of the Fireflies though.
@Nec
It's definitely that good. Compelling plot, deep and ambiguous characters, awesome soundtrack, gorgeous art/animation. What's not to love?

yeah definitely, and re-watching all their movies with subtitles rather than the dubs i saw as a kid make them so much better too. Spirited Away has a decent dub but most of them don't
princess mononoke is incredible yeah, watch it asap

Howl's has a cool dub. Disney got Christian Bale, who's pretty high profile (though at the time, maybe not?). Not sure how well he matches the characters though. I also enjoyed Mononoke's dub, though one of the (Asian ofc) characters was voiced by Jada Pinkett Smith, and it was annoying to hear the characteristic black talk from a fair woman. The rest I watched subbed so I can't say anything there.

I'll check 'em out then. What are you guys' thoughts on Secret World of Arrietty? I still have yet to see it. So far, I've seen SA, Ponyo, Kiki's Delivery Service, and My Neighbor Totoro, and I liked/loved them all.

it's beautiful and has a great soundtrack. It moves much slower than other ghibli movies and isn't really action packed but it has a good story and characters. but really most ghibli movies are excellent and worth watching, even the ones that aren't essential are still good movies

Alright, thanks man. The only movie in their studio that kinda got a more negative reception was Tales
from Earthsea. Rotten Tomatoes only gave it a 44% or something like that :[

@foxblood: Then again, Arrietty wasn't a Miyazaki film either, he was only a co-writer for it.

Subs sucks hard cuz the movies are really visual and it's distracting and I miss stuff and reading blows and yeah all japanese people sound the same to me

Don't worry, you don't really need to be an anime fan to appreciate these movies. It'd be like saying,
"I don't like American cartoons so I don't know if I'll like >insert awesome Pixar movie here.

@Treb, you get used to watching subs. Or maybe not---I watched subbed Hindi movies growing up because my vocab isn't good enough to watch a Hindi movie nad understand it all. So maybe that's why I don't have any trouble. Still, I prefer a decent dub to superior sub just because being able to focus 100% of my attention on Miyazaki's beautiful artwork is better than 95/5 or 90/10 or whatever split.

Honestly, Spirited Away has one of the best English dubs I've seen, but probably because Disney did it
