I read the whole review rather quickly. Nice work, it was a smooth read and detailed.

I don't really enjoy this album. I listen to some pop-punk music but the vocals turn me off and while the music is catchy it doesn't do much else.

I love his voice. It's the generic music that makes me not care for it too much.

generic music? you clearly haven't listened to IKSSE:3 or Good Apollo.

I thought this was a lot better than some of your other reviews. I'm not a big fan of the band, nor this album though. I just can't find much to make me want to listen to it more. His singing bugs me too.

The album is decent, it's not the most amazing thing ever, it's your average creative work, it's just better than the norm, for me it doesn't really stand up.

Work Of Art. All I have to say just based on the lyrics alone.

Good review too, though I would pick Apollo I: The Writing Writer as the stand out song.

Personally, I like the willing well III (an almost exact clone of the writing writer) much better. I think the "so cry on, bitch, why aren't you laughing now" part fits better as the chorus than the "goodnight, tonight, i'm burning star IV"

Anyway, incredible album and review. way-to-go kripes

I find Coheed And Cambira rather unoriginal in terms of music, but they have nice concepts for albums.

Ive only heard the singles htough.

IMO, they choose the worst songs to be singles. A Favor House Atlantic was alright, but it gave off the vibe that they were pop-punk. i dislike the suffering a bit (or at least, i think the rest of the album is better). blood red summer was a pretty good song, imo, not the best off of that album.

devil in jersey city, and welcome home are awesome though.

This is still not their best album IMO, and far from a 5/5. It has the newer touch to it, but basically I still think that SSTB and IKSSE:3 own this one except for some songs (gotta love Ten Speed )

Thanks again all.

Ten Speed (of God's Blood & Burial) should be the bands third single; I'm going to throw a hissy fit on here if it isn't. ;)

For me it's hard to decide whether this, or TSSTB is better. I'm going to say it's tie.

 When did this get changed to pop-punk? So that's what Jom did!

Tasteful review, Kripes. Everything is included to stand up to a supposed classic such as this.

The only tracks on this one that I like are the Willing Well songs. I hope they become more consistant for the next album.

Just put this on again to give it another spin... and it's competely different than I remembered. Maybe it was my mood earlier, but his voice isn't bothering me at all today

I like his voice, but i can see how people can despise it. It took me a good month to actually render it as 'listenable'. But i do agree, his voice is oddly feminine for such a big man.

Is his speaking voice that womanly, too?

It's very deep, actually. Disturbingly deep.

I think he sings that way on purpose. Because Claudio, the character, is growing as the story progresess. You'll notice his voice is a bit deeper on this album.
