When my only gripe with an album is that some songs (The Brain/Poznan for example) could be even longer, then yeah, I think it's pretty damn awesome. Nice review!

Definitely getting this.

Wow that "review" was terribly written.
Decent double album

fixing up this band's page. similar bands: Godspeed and Sigur Ros???
um, no. not every post-rock band is comparable to those two, and this band is barely post-rock. thinking about making the genre listing say Progressive, Post-Rock rather than the other way around. I've only heard their two most recent albums though.

but anyway:
this is really good, I like it a lot. a definite step down from I, Vigilante in my books though. I do really enjoy a lot of the guitar playing however; much of it reminds me a lot of David Gilmour and David Gilmour is the greatest guitarist of all time soooo. what I'm saying is this guy has good guitar tone/style

Some songs definitely need more dynamics and tempo changes. The album drags in a lot of points. The 2nd disc is better than the 1st.

This is a joy to listen to, and something a little different for me. I especially dig the blues riffs.
"Like any self-respecting prog album (Mankind) The Crafty Ape is both a double album and a concept
album. In three chapters. About something."
^this made me lol.
