This album is really enjoyable. Love the drums. I've heard some of the above rec'd bands. Will check the ones I haven't.

Protitution owns as well as the cover art. Some of the other songs were a little weaker such as Into the Black Mass but overall pretty decent. I wish they were a little heavier and nasty sounding tbh.

Into the Black Mass is like the perfect slower anthem to satan in the middle of the record to kind of give you a break from the onslaught. I dig it a lot.

Listen to Penis Metal if u want some heavier war metal. This album is nice and polished, which i think was good. This is a damn fine album.

Yeah I think my problem was I wasn't listening to the album in its chronological order and missed the point of Black Mass.

I saw your review for Penis Metal and have it on my to listen list. Gonna check it now actually. And yeah this is a solid album, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

here's some more blackened death/war metal/etc.

nuclearhammer/begrime exemious - heretical serpent cult
demonomancy - rites of barbaric demons
mefitic - signing the servants of god
grave upheaval - grave upheaval
grave upheaval/encoffination - split (encoffination is death/doom)
witchrist - beheaded ouroboros
truppensturm - salute to the iron emperor
beherit - drawing down the moon (although i'd tend to think you've heard this already)
von - satanic blood angel
abhorer - zygotical sabbatory anabapt (essential death/black/thrash)
cacodaemon - the demoniac invocation
embrace of thorns - atonement ritual

I've heard great things about this album but I can't find it anywhere. Although I heard you can email the frontman and get a copy sent to you.

From the looks of it it's easier to boot a copy than actually buy it.
