@Kane: thanks.
Regarding the album, I am not sure if I could listen to this more than once. The concept and the production are both interesting and disturbing, but the actual result feels empty to me. If I did not know anything about the album, it would be just that: interesting. Knowing its background makes it disturbing.
Re-reading your review, you make a good case for the altum's merits; yet I cannot help but feel it relies too much on the album's concept. Fantomas' Delirivm Cordia and Matmos' A Chance to Cut is A Chance to Cure had dark concepts behind them, but at least you could just concentrate on the music, that felt detached from its origin. In this case, one cannot get past the fact that this is an actual slaughter.
I do not know, maybe Herbert should have revealed that information later, so most people would actually concentrate on the work itself. This a rare case (in music) in which knowing too much about an album can be a spoiler. It does not help that I have never liked pig squels ;-)
I will try to listen to it again at some point, with a different mindset.
