I haven't listened to this yet but... A city by the light divided is my favourite... I stopped listening to their first two records and then saw them live and heard their new stuff... that album got me interested again

You guys are all talking about why FC hit you more than their other albums (the time period of middle school/HS or whatever) and that's probably why WAtT is my fav. It's the first Thursday album I heard and it was in Iraq and it was one of only 3 CDs we had (the other two were A Static Lullaby - ...And Don't Forget to Breathe & Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue).

Hahaha yeah great choices to take actually, like some sort of Desert Island Discs situation?

Off-topic, but what were you doing over there?

No, it was an anonymous care package. It had food too. ;) We were blowing shit up, mostly.

Holy dooly, and here's me thinking they only sent out Papa Roach over there...

Also, bouts of "WAAAAAR AALLL OF THE TIME" would sound pretty cinematic in between artillery fire and such, I would imagine.

With praise for Empty Glass in both reviews, I was expecting more than it was. Maybe if I had the lyrics as well I'd be more impressed.

But digging this album so far...might take some growing though, which is unusual for Thursday.

Great review, Adam. I'm looking forward to listening to this, mostly for the nostalgia. WAtT is prob my fav by them, but yeah, when I hear "Cross Out the Eyes", I remember how much I loved FC when I was 15.

The fact it took 1 week to write in the studio makes this such a gem.

amazing album. reeks of emotion!! love how the vocals are pushed towards the back of the mix a lot more on this.

Is it just me or does Empty Glass seriously sound like The Glow Pt 2 by The Microphones?

I feel like Thursday finally clicked with Friedman on this one. The mixing and production are great, and even though Geoff's vocals are in the background it's still amazingly affective. Will rate soon, but still letting it set in. Already one of the most impressive albums they've put out.
