Arch Enemy have some good songs but overall lack any real originality.

Besides, THE F**KIN BASHED MIKE PATTON!

Mike Patton is the god of all that's holy. he is the amazin talent behind Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Fantomas, Tomahawk and many many others. he is the most original musician and one of the most talented in existence. his greatness is not to be questioned.

This album is good but the production really does compromise the quality of the album as a whole. I really like black metal which has an underproduced feel but the production on this album is so bad that it takes away from the album. The vocals in particular drown out everything else at times, which is not like Emperor in their later releases. If the production was better, this album would probably be about a 4, but as it is I give it 6.5/10

I really don't think the production takes anything away from this. Yes it's really bad, but this is still amazing.

Yeah let's revive an ancient thread. Anyway I actually have heard this, and for what it is it does its job.

I think Emperor were already a very interesting band from their first demo but the production reached a point where it compromises the songs, although there are times when the production isn't too bad but at other times everything is drowned out by the vocals. The production on the Emperor EP is about as underproduced as black metal can get before it sounds bad. I really like the production on 'In The Nightside Eclipse'. It owns!

Really like this but can't help thinking it sounds like someones just put a tape recorder in the corner of their practice room lol. Songs are cool and it's a good piece of history in black metal.
