Doesn't matter how bad the album is, Toby Driver has already proved himself to be a genius, no matter how many awful records he releases. I always thought Kayo Dot, while interesting as hell, was far inferior to maudlin of the Well, Driver's other project.

I think Choirs of the Eye was better than anything maudlin of the Well did.

This isn't THAT bad. And Bath is the best thing Driver has done imo

i really like dowsing and choirs but even then i still feel like im being educated more than anything. seriously, i dunno what exactly toby driver is trying to convey half the time. my ignorance is astounding =(

I dunno where the problemz iz...

the first song is better than Blue Lambency, the best KD Opener since Marathon.

Whisper Ineffable is kinda Gemini becoming Tripod, me likes the self-destruction in the mid-section and Bodies Drumming is all kewl...

but yeah, still no magic feelin aight?

but stop, ABYSS HINGE 2 is coming 4 ya! The whole Song works, but
the last 5 Minutes are magic and propably one of the best sections Toby has ever written.

the shorter tracks work but they are not really relevant for the rating.

I would say: still growing on me... will propably end at 4.0 and next to Dowsing as the second or third best Kayo Record(BLD as worst, CHOIRS of course as their magnum Opus)

Noticeable amount of typos in there.

after 5 listenings it has become an easy and enjoyable one. It's nowhere "annoying", "boring" or "going nowhere"...

the music makes absolutely sense...

the huge problem is, that it is propably too laid back and mellow, very soft and arty, but never plain or boring(imho, ok maybe it really lacks on exciting moments...)

and I would agree, that you can not listen (or enjoy) this kind of music at anytime.. same with Dowsing anemone...

choirs of the eye is different, I could listen to choirs much more and almost at anytime and any mood, Legendary work by Toby Driver.

i completely disagree ,this is an excellent record and kayo Dot isn't a band which you listen to during your exercises...

now why is everyone comparing every album with choirs of the eye, knowing that kayo dot are never goin to replicate their previous album....

I am not talking about listening to kayo dot while taking a shit...

I was talking about not listening to an Album for months and then being motivated to give it a try.

I could easily dig choirs of the eye anytime, no matter what I am digging currently(like Converge or Neurosis)

but Dowsing, and propably Coyote too, are different, I think I've got to be in the right mood to play that albums after not listening to it for months.. except I would fully appreciate the record....

well, let's see...

later d00ds
