heyyy glad this got featured, hope it gets attention

commit this to memory is excellent but much heavier on the synths and a bit less universal... this is

the first time i can say with conviction beyond personal preference that one of their albums is

excellent. i love cttm though. you'd probably prefer this.

Well, it's streaming at http://www.myspace.com/motioncitysoundtrack so it's easy to check out without much hassle. Tracks I'd recommend are Worker Bee, Her Words Destroyed My Planet, Stand Too Close and Pulp Fiction.

its pretty good but tbh the synths in CTTM were WIN and this has no synths. so it's like a 3.5 right now.

Anyone who is on the edge of giving this a listen, at least give it one solid listen. This is good

stuff.

nice review! listening to it now and I gotta say it's a pretty solid album, definitely a 3.5 for me, at least.

i've never understood why having a review featured is thought by some as congratulatory. all you literally have to do is write a review for a popular album that's just come out, writing it well isn't even a requirement.

yeah, me neither, although i do think decent writing must be a requirement if mods are prepared to highlight it on the front
page?

but excellent review, buddy. ive heard that one popular song by this band that starts 'lets get fucked up and die' (i think?) but otherwise have never really paid much attention to them.

Definitely will give this a shot. "Don't Call It A Comeback" was an awesome song back in the day.

Thanks Obs. Ras, I think it's more a 'nice, enjoy being on the homepage' sort of thing.

Glad to see people are enjoying it; it was probably a 3.5 for me after a couple of listens (I was tentative on Observer's shoutbox when he asked me what I thought about it) but it's genuinely an excellent record. Nothing life-changing, but important and a fantastic listen.

I like CTTM but this seems kind of like a step back. iunno, a little formulaic with nothing really new here. It is solid but there isnt anything here to really excite me.

But, ya know, first listen so well see.

I disagree that there's nothing particularly new (Disappear, Pulp Fiction are examples) but that's not why I think this is so impressive in any case... like I said, it's the consolidation aspect that I find so endearing.
