Well, mainly since there are no tourists, I don't have to wait 2 hrs for a coffee that will cost me 5 bucks. Everything is local, and everyone knows each other

I didn't know you were able to recommend 10 albums now....that's what I get for procrastinating and being too busy to review though. haha
Awesome review as expected Davey. Probably won't get around to this considering there are like 8 other '09 albums I need to get or anticipate buying.
Also Dougie you're cuhrazy for going swimming....isn't it winter down there? I remember going there in July several years ago - we had gray skies and rain out on the Great Barrier Reef.

Haha, yes but you see as a surfer, I do what I gotta do. Unlucky for you getting rain, because usually they are just coming out of the wet season up there!

hardly cold now - the moisture is gradually descending statisically and the sun has risen high above the clouds, brightening the sky from all darkness.
still complete shite weather though.

Cuhrazy Dougie... Cuhrazy. But yeah, I know what you mean about the crowds in summer. It's probably enough to make you put a fin on your back & scare a few outsiders.

Oh man Steve, you got to get down here in a season other than winter. Of course, I know that is when travel is most convenient for Americans, but The Great Barrier Reef is A1 when the sun is shining & skies are clear.

Thanks for the kudos on the review Steve. You only have 8 or so more 2009 albums to listen to!? Just looking at my list, I currently have 25. And that does not include what has yet to be released. Hmm, me thinks I have to prioritize!!! Oh & the way to add to your 'Reco by Reviewer' section is to simply edit your review & add more to the original 4 without deleting anything.

piglet, you meteorologist you, I didn't understood a word of that other than "shite weather".

Awesome review. I haven't heard of these guys, let alone heard them, but I'm making a point of changing that as we speak, largely off the back of your massive rec section. I hope it doesn't sound like U2, though . But yeah, they sound like they use a lot of the tactics that turn me onto music, so fingers crossed :D

Ohhhh, but Patrick, I like piglet. It rolls off the tongue. How about we compromise with Patrick the Piglet? Nah, that's too long. Pat the Pig it is. If my fingers get tired, it will be PTP, which also abbreviates your user-name. I'm rambling again...

Thanks Adam. I don't expect anyone from outside Oz to have heard of these guys (hell, 2 users from the same state in Oz hadn't heard of them), other than anyone in America who saw them impress at SXSW or whatever that festival is called over there.

Nah, they don't sound like U2 other than a lot of the delayed & layered guitars. Think the way that Editors also use the same technique. Like I said, they are going all out to promote this album for it's UK release in 2 weeks time, so keep an ear out for them. I don't think you will need to try too hard.

Piglet does indeed "roll off the tongue", but does it sound professional or adequate to suit my necessities on sputnik? I think not!
Please - just Patrick. And if you are so persistent to be irrelevant with my name, just call me Patty Pig even though it doesn't seclude or define anything I've just said.

Ok, Patrick it is... Unless I'm off my head & then Patty Pig wins.

Haha. I knew I was missing the obvious; U2, Editors, Fine Young Cannibals, Bloc Party, Arcade Fire &.... M People. How did I not see the obvious? Haha.

Seriously Adam, just give it some time. Plus, you're tired. What did you get? 4 hours sleep. Leave that for Spain when you'll be at beachside bars until 4 in the morning loaded with sangrea.

Right now for you, Dougy (The Temper Trap's singer, not the Sputnik user) is probably sounding like an alley cat in the middle of the night.

Hey, Dougy & Dougie both live in the same state of Australia. Coincidence!?!?!?

Not surprisingly, Dougie has gone suspiciously quiet... & everyone knows he tried to pass himself off as an alternate user-name of mine when he first arrived here at Sputniksville.

I only know two songs off this that I've heard on the radio but they're both pretty average...Can't see myself rating this higher than a 2.5 or maybe a 3.

oh yeah, and Dougie man, you're a surfer!?

you just risked making an enemy on principle. i hate surfers. although music-geek surfers may be cool. but tendy pretty-boy prep surfers, like we get round my parts, are DEFINITELY not cool. you know what i'm talking bout. kids, never older than 18 or so, dressed in the latest from Gap and carrying blonde swooning girlfriends. their technique is limited, but they like to 'talk tech' to impress the babes.

and worse of all, they don't leave any for the non-surfer, scrawny and bespectacled (and older) music geeks :p if you're the old-school kind of surfer, though (rugged, laid-back, amiable and cool) you have my respect. for me, those are the *real* surfers.
