This album really surprised me.

I liked the album but it didn't appeal to me in the same way that Fever To Tell did.

my CD was broken in case, and my lame ass record store is empty (they carried 10 copies) -- so *surfs internets*

I don't like the single 'Zero' at all which is a shame because I've always enjoyed Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

"most expect their next record to be a damp squib; "
I am actually expecting a return to form for the Strokes, I believe in them...
Kings of Leon have had a much more considerable drop since their first than some of the other bands
White Stripes have a wonderful album out every two years or so, and Jack Whites in more bands than anyone could think of
and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
they changed up their style once again, it seems like they're a Beck sorta band, always changing style... I personally love the new synth infected ballads and dance tunes... I think Skeletons may be one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in at least a year
give it a couple listens.

I like Karen O's voice, but she sometimes reminds me of Nena who sang that 99 Red Balloons song from the 80's and it freaks my balls out. This Message Edited On 03.30.09

Through the last decade you really have to be suspicious of hyped albums, often it's just people wanting to like something that some critics have decided for us is great. In this case though the album isn't actually too bad, it does have some real melody mixed in there. It's not perfect though and some songs which are probably lesser like Dragon Queen or Skeletons could perhaps have been at least cut in half, too much repetition is annoying.

lol i only like about 3 songs off this any more

not gonna lie....WAS NOT the biggest fan of Karen O or the yeah yeah yeahs until i heard heads will roll and was instantly impressed. talk about blood on the dance floor. i like that the band has discovered that they didnt have to sacrifice their rock roots for melody.
Highlights: Heads Will Roll, Zero, Soft Shock

Fuck me if that new Sacrilige song is any indication, the new album is gonna be amazing. Always hoped
that Nick Zinner(i feel he's the brains... the whole sound of the band changed, when he stopped
playing punk rock riffs and went for more electronic/synth rock) would someday write a really great
album. This was good but inconsistent.
