Love Down's first 2 albums but this didn't work for me. Nothing In Return was the standout track.

Strange that you say it's too produced/commercial, Inveigh. To me this sounds the most raw and bleak, although the songs are weak compared to their other stuff.

Phil Anselmo is really underrated.

Gonna have to bump this back up to a 4. It's not as good as the first two Down albums but it's still awesome and I still prefer it to most of Pantera's stuff.

I find this album just as good as the band's debut and a little better than their last, but not by much. "On March the Saints" and "Nothing in Return (Walk Away)" for me are two of the band's best-written songs so far, and thankfully they manage to overshadow the weaker moments of Down III.
