Brave review DavID (coz you just know most people hate this). I have only listened to it once, so it is too early to comment, but it’s definitely not awful and I’ll probably rate it around a 2 - 3 myself.
Good timing with the review also, since I am about to give all 4 of their releases a good listen because their timeslot at the Melbourne Soundwave is open right now (although I am leaning towards Lacuna Coil or Billy Talent).
I have yet to check Moore out on the 2 albums you call “awful”, but I didn’t mind their 7 track debut EP. It was a bit hit & miss, but that was to be expected for a band so young at the time.
Overall, a good review. You got a little bogged down on the singer comparison, but it’s a little difficult not to.

Thing is, Sonny Moore didn't sing on that one.

Hahaha... Well, there you go then. I may agree with you even more than I thought. Stay tuned I suppose...
BTW, who will you be seeing in that 6pm'ish timeslot at Soundwave? I presume Billy Talent

And what, pray tell, did you hear?
why I heard the two songs on the sputnik sampler right on the album page!

I've never liked this band. I tried getting into some of their stuff a few years ago, as they were sort of popular at my school, but even with my limited musical eliteness of the time I still managed to disregard the band. 'Ride the Wings of Pestilence', or whatever it's called, was a good track though.

Ride the Wings of Pestilence is one of their best tracks. That whole album is pretty great, as is Heroine. Maybe it's just nostalgia or something idk.
And this album still blows. This Message Edited On 12.18.08

Wasn't Wes Borland in this band at some point? Random I know, but I just saw the band name and that came to mind.

He played live with them too, lolz.
He wasn't dressed up as the monkey with the facepaint and the massive pupils, though.

well then, I DON'T CARE. He looks fun when he's dressed up...like a whore.

seriously the only song i can listen to on this album without puking is "two as one"
the rest sucks compared to their old stuff

Heroine is much better than this!

Ok, I have given FFTL's discog a spin and - while it is an unpopular opinion around these parts - I agree with DavID that this is in fact their best album. I also agree with the review that it is mainly on the back of the first 5 tracks. So great review DavID.
Of the other releases, the 7 track EP may be their next best, while 'Heroine' was ok and not a great deal behind this I suppose. 'Dear Diary...' did absolutely nothing for me at all.
