Great review, great album.

I don't know that many more songs that kick your *** as much as 'Battery' does. 'MoP' is simply genius and the complete addictiveness of 'Sanitarium' defies belief.

I like 'The Thing...' though. Am I weird?

Then again, St Anger's my favourite Met album. Go figure.

What I realised with Metallica is that they don't have an album that is clearly their best IMO. What i mean is that I would rate all the pre Black Album albums ALMOST the same.

(?)Why'd you have to go and make this, so that all your following albums would be compared to it and deemed inferior?

A classic comment...LMAO. Totally true, though. MoP is THE greatest Metallica album and definitely in my top 5 all-time greats.

I thought that Cliff did the intro to "Damage, Inc." on a wah pedal.

the solos are insanely complex, but not unique or interesting.
the drums are... good god, for a metal band? embarrassing.
the bass blends in.
hetfield's vocals are, as always, quite good, but not *amazing*.
the riffs.. uhmmm... honestly, the only thing Metallica's ever done that deserves as much recognition as they've gotten has been their S&M live recording with the San Fran orchestra, which was utterly awesome, even with the weak, lameass drums.

That was a incredibly detailed and great review there.

I think it's their third best, AJFA and Ride the Lightning are better IMO.

This album is okay though it is probably my least favourite of the first four albums.

Why do you say that?

Because they keep saying things that aren't true. Aka 'a lie.'

Oh my God, I never thought of it like that!

I like this album a lot, but I don't think they'll ever so anything as good as Ride the Lightning.

Ride the Lightning had two crap songs on it. Aka 'Escape' and 'Trapped Under Ice.'

Then again, I felt some songs on this album were sub par by comparison.

Porbably one of the most overrated albums in metal history.

Good review nevertheless.

It isn't a bad album but it get's WAY more praise than it deserves. People allways say "OMG DIS IZ TEH BEZT ALBUMZ EVA!!111" but they really haven't heard anything else. There is a ton of far better metal albums that deserve alot more credit than this mediocre album gets. I find it's good for a spin every now and then. I don't like Hammet's solos either.

Ps. I thought I was giving it a three when I clicked average. oh well. :p
