What the album has in technicality and shred it lacks in personality and originality. Awaken the Dreamers could have been so much more.

This applies to all of their albums. Good review Thor.

I don't know if I want to check this out just because I'll probably end up being disappointed. I love TPoE though so I dont know.

The song writing on TPoE was definitely better than this. Probably a solid 3 for me right now, but who knows. I'll need to spin this a few more times before I fully decide.

Agree with the review completely, though i am slightly more negative about it. The shredding is actually really bad for the most part; i cant get into the effects Storey uses on his solos/"look what i can do" parts and the drums and vocals actually digressed from TPoE.

Just a real fucking huge disappointment, mostly the vox and drums

btw has anyone else noticed that Never..again is literally a one hundred percent repeat of itself after the solo? wtf were they thinking there?

vocals kinda suck
no way dude. his vocals are so much smoother on this than on TPoE. He didn't have much transition from his gutterals to his blistering highs, and while they aren't quite as intense on this, they still are mindnumbingly awesome and his technique has grown noticeably stronger. and the cleans are excellent.

ahh no, the vocals on TPoE is a lot less forced, on this album. He really looks like he is overdoing himself on this album at times...song #2 is clear evidence of thisThis Message Edited On 09.05.08

or someone who recognized this is for the most part just average deathcore shit with a little melodicness thrown in occasionally

Exactly. Had this album as melodic as the title track it would have been incredibly awesome.

The clean vocals are good on here, but his screams on TPoE were so much more in-your-face than they are here.
