my only peeve is one of the last songs straight rips The Refused's New Noise main riff, that part did make me really cringe but other than that good stuff. Are any of their other albums worth checking or is this a 1-album wonder like most nu-metal bands?

Project 86 have an overall worthwhile discog. They never really stick to one specific sound but most of what they do is still pretty close in some respects.

This album, And the Rest Will Follow, Songs to Burn Your Bridges By, and Picket Fence Cartel are my personal picks.

Yeah they've never really made the same album twice. I like all of em up through rival factions

Not too much. Its all still stuck in the rwalm of Alt Metal/Rock, Punk, Post-Hardcore etc. just different variations of it. Its not like Boris or Radiohead levels of genre shifting but still quite surprisingly varied.

this still goes so hard. The bass sounds amazing after all these years. more bands need to put the bass that high in the mix. And yeah Sad Machines is an all-timer, mostly for that insane bridge.

DeadBitchAlexis' recs are on point, though I'd throw Truthless Heroes in there too. It's less consistent than the other ones there but the highlights (Hollow Again, Soma, Team Black) are phenomenal.

Pity this band lost steam when all the original members except Schwab left. Schwab seems like a cool guy but the new stuff doesn't have the energy or textures that their earlier stuff did.

I had decent taste in middle school apparently. 6th or 7th grade I discovered this album and it is one of the primary bands that introduced me to the world of heavy music. This was my very favorite band/album during that time. Fast forward to 34 year old me, and this album still holds up. Considering it's safe to put it in the "nu-metal" category, it stands leaps and bounds above most of the rest in the genre. This album was truly special for its time.

I remember in 7th grade my old band and I used to cover One Armed Man a lot for gig warm-ups. I miss those times

Been a fan of this band since I heard some kids playing DBL at a church teen retreat I went to in '01. Had no idea what it was or who but this album is what led me down the metal rabbit hole (this and Toxicity) and it's still an all time favorite of mine.

This band was recommended to Christians as an alternative to At The Drive-In.
