agreed too, although he's right on some spots. as soon as i read the few sentences, i knew he was not very fond of the band in the first place.

Look, well then make sure to rephrase your sentences differently because it came off like you were being a jackass.

So Umm you've just listened to the myspace tracks? Or did you stream the album once and decided you didnt like it.

I think your acting like a complete jackass in this thread and i dont see why staff is under your name...This Message Edited On 07.31.07
Most of Sputnikmusic won't give this a chance and insist its crappy because its Korn.
Or maybe just because it's crappy? I gave it a chance and it sucked.
Did you really have to write this?
No, I didn't HAVE to write it.

You are quite boring to read and just sound like your trying to get us to understand why you hate Korn rather then why this album isn't very good.

I could see how you might get that impression if you only read the first two paragraphs and skimmed over the rest, but the majority of the review is specifically about the album.

I haven't got it and haven't heard tracks so i can't touch on the creditability of what you said but it sounds like you spun this twice maybe three times while you were probably already setting up the dissing review

Three times before writing.

It looks nice and all but i cant take you seriously as your so one sided its unreal.

It's difficult not to be one-sided about an album when it blows.

And because your staff does it mean i am meant to take you more seriously? Because you pretty much tarnished that right there.

Um, I don't care? No offence dude, but you're some dude who just signed up and I really couldn't give a crap what you think.
It would be nice if you had explained more why you think its repetitve, instead of just stating that it is.
Okay, considering I didn't use that word once in the review...

Also, Korn lyrics have always been kind of dumb... their appeal is more in the overall vibe of the music, not in any kind of inspirational lyrics.

And if you actually read the review, I think I pretty much said that when I said;

For most Korn fans, their appeal always lay within their aesthetic rather than their songwriting

As well as saying that their lyrics have always thrived on angst. No offence to you either, but seeing as this is the first post I've ever seen from you, your opinion doesn't mean a lot to me.

Why do the electronic textures make it sound like NIN outtakes?

Uh, because that's how they sound?

I agree that this feels more like a bash session then a review.

Maybe if you actually read it you'll think differently. But maybe not.
That's exactly my point...most of this site was insistent that this would suck before it came out and guaranteed they half-listened to it and blew it off and said it sucked.

I see the genius in it this time around and I'm not even a Korn fan. The last album they had that I enjoyed was Life is Peachy. And that was about a 3.5. I hated their debut as well, so this is the first time I've really liked a Korn album.
Ok dude, we get that you're the only person on the site open minded enough to listen to the album "properly" and the only reason that no one else can see the hidden "genius" in the album is that they're completely biased against Korn, unlike you, the only person on this website clever enough to understand the depth of this amazing album.
I think your acting like a complete jackass in this thread and i dont see why staff is under your name...
Maybe if you were around for more than, I dunno, 5 minutes, you'd see that Iluvatar is staff because he writes good reviews.

To summarise, yeah, I know this isn't one of my best reviews, but if you all seriously think there's something wrong with saying something sucks when I genuinely think it does, I'll happily go back to being close-minded.

Okay, considering I didn't use that word once in the review...
You're right, that's not the specific word you used, the main sentence that brought the word "repetitive to mind was this one:
Much of Untitled follows the same pattern; flat, unoriginal, uninspired and difficult to take seriously.
To me, that says the album is repetitive. But even if you don't like that word, I didn't really see where you ever said what made it follow the same pattern.
No offence to you either, but seeing as this is the first post I've ever seen from you, your opinion doesn't mean a lot to me.
No offense to you, but I feel the need to remind you that even though someone hasn't posted here on this very site before and in a place where you've witnessed it, doesn't mean that they have no idea what they're talking about. I flip-flop on Korn... I like some of their albums and not others. I read the whole review because I might end up dropping money on the album... and while reading the whole review, those were the questions I was left with... not as a critic of your review, but as someone trying to see if this album is worth geting. This Message Edited On 07.31.07

Ouch! Brutal! :-) That being said, Korn has been my favorite band since I was 16, and I can't deny that every record is worse. Won't keep me from being a fan, though!!! Good review, even if I disagree. ;-)

This album is not great in any way. It's not good either. Hell, it's not even freaking AVERAGE. Sure, the new style is cool, but the music is seriously some of the most boring stuff I've ever listened to before.

god this is an irrelevent arguement. I love Korn fans.

They haven't done anything good since 'issues' and that's probably because everyone else grew up after that album.

I'm not a Korn fan...Life is Peachy was the only other one I could stand, but this is a good album. Maybe I feel this way because I'm an NIN fanboy.

I'd feel insulted as a NIN fan to have Korn be called your new peers, personally.

They're not our peers; one good album...this one. Their leeching off our sound and adding their trademarks (heavy bass, creepy sounds and vocals) to it.

Kind of like plagarism; but it works.
