Calling "Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde" black metal is a really huge stretch.

The older material has way more black metal to it the new album. It's really more

shoegaze but you can't deny the black metal influences prescent. This Message Edited On 06.22.07

The guitars have a fuzzy black metal-esque tone but that's as far as I'll go.

The EP is quite a bit more black metal orientated, musically (and the vox on track 2 are

black metal screams that the guy also uses in Amesoeurs). The demo is a bit more

black metal as well. This Message Edited On 06.22.07

I'm not talking about their old stuff, I clearly just said the new one. Neige rules though; I need to get the new Peste Noire sooner rather than later.

Hence what I meant with the MBV influence on the new album (it way more dominate then the black metal). My point is there is still a black metal vibe, though it's very meloncholic and not at all dominate. It is a beautiful album.

I also like Mortifera, which Neige use to be a memeber of. It's closer to the black metal style then any of his other works.

*Back to topic: Nachtmystium rules.

Their other stuff is decent. The worst thing with this band is they intentionally worsen the quality of their album. They have a split coming out with Leviathan that seems promising, other than the fact Leviathan is awful and whatnot.

Nactmystium are not the only band I've heard that do that, but I can say it could be

a lot worse.

Funny, you are the only one who thinks that about Leviathan. Tenth Level Of

Suicide is a very weak album compared to Tentacles Of Whorror and the split with

Xasthur. I do not stand with you on Leviathan but Xasthur is pretty bad (except for

Nocturnal Poisoining for the most part). Leviathan has made some bad material but

overall is pretty good USBM. Lurker Of Chalice is better but completly diffrent then

Leviathan all together. You should give it a listen.

To NemesisDivina: I suggest you check out Nacthmystium's Demise, other then that

album this is the only Nachtmystium that is really worth it's money IMO.This Message Edited On 06.22.07

I'm the only one who thinks Leviathan sucks? Are you actually serious right now? I'll agree that Xasthur is like, 50x worse, but I don't think that makes Leviathan anymore tolerable. Anyways this is meant for the BM thread and not for this review.

More like you're a member of about 20% of the people who even know who Wrest is that doesn't liek Leviathan. It doesn't matter though cause I never take your opinion into account.

And I don't do threads.

Wrest is such an obscure musician I have no idea how I've heard of him. You're so obscure. I'm always astounded by your knowledge of Metal Archives and your ability to tell me that you dislike my opinion. Man, Cravinov, you are amazing.

Eh. I don't like Leviathan either, it bores me. But I'm definitely looking forward to Nachtmystium's side of that split.

Yep. To each their own.

We sure like straying away from the topic. Do you guys agree with me on Azentrius' vocals? I can't get enough of them.

Yeah, the guy has one of the greatest black metal voices of the genre. Along with him

I'd put Wrest (I know many would disagree), Neige, Ihsahn, Galder, and Mirai.

IMO Watain has some pretty great vox as well. This Message Edited On 06.22.07
