that opening track is A1.. tbh im just not a huge fan of the electronic element so it'll have to grow for me..

First track is actually one of my least favorites on the first few listens

It's different enough, not a total overhaul of their usual sound or anything though. I Will Destroy You, t/t, Guilty Party, and System are my favs atm

^great songs but Born to Beg and Empire Lines are up there for me too. I’ll Still Destroy You’s electronics are everything. Very Kid A

It’s the second of theirs I’ve given a 5 to. Their first 3 “masterpieces” are great but this and SWB are easily the best. Besides they’re growers anyway. Can’t wait to see where it ends up. May trump this album in the end. It’s an immediate 5 regardless. So many gorgeous, engrossing electronics. It’s a lot like Kid A. Unfortunately it probably won’t be recognized as such. But it’s absolutely stunning to me.

as someone previously obsessed with kid a, i see the similarity but not to a huge extent ala Liar's WIXIW - cool to see that perspective though. as a national album i'm sure it will grow on me and there are certainly standouts on the record i really like, including Born to Beg and I'll Still Destroy You

New album is definitely more of an evolution than a revolution, but since this album and High Violet are alomst completely interchangable (only song that would feel out of place on High Violet is prolly Humiliation) it's cool to hear that they are not satisfied with doing the same thing over and over again.

Considering the pre released tracks are all 4-5 in quality and the live versions of the rest were excellent too the new one is a guaranteed 4.5-5 Doof rating in waiting you'd think.

“albums featuring electronics =/= "x's Kid A"”

I think we all grasp this concept but if you don’t hear some Kid A in SWB then you’re just deaf
