sput has a weird perspective for average ratings. like, anything in the 4.3-4.4 is a masterpiece, anything 4.0ish is really good, anything around 3.5 is solid, 3.0ish is average, and anything below that is complete shit

Album Rating: 3.5
To me it's:
4.6-4.4: 5/5
4.3-4.1: 4.5/5
4-3.8: 4/5
3.7-3.5: 3.5/5
3.4-3.2: 3/5
3.1-2.9: 2.5/5
2.8-2.6: 2/5
2.5-2.3: 1.5/5
2.2-below: 1/5
|
| |
Johnny, I don't see how what you listed is in any way a weird perspective on average ratings.
|
| |
highly rated=good shit
stuff close to 3-2.5=lame shit
2 and below=shit
nothing weird about that

yeah, i rarely return to anything below 3.5
|
| |
@dir - my point is, people here seem to think that anything below a 3-rating means it's crap, when actually a 3/5 is a good rating. I think people just hand out their ratings really generously. like, if you took every album that's ever been rated on here, you'd probably get an average score of like 3.5 or something, which doesn't really make sense.

I know I do

Anything 3 and above is at
least enjoyable and I'll listen to
it on the regular, 2.5s I might
give another shot or two, anything
below that is as good as trash
