Imperial Triumphant will have a new album out soon and DsO will be even more of an irrelevant, distant memory.

I have faith in IT but I don't think DsO will ever become a distant memory. They are already a cult, genre defining band and the fact that they spawned so many clones and semi-clones is a clear indicative of how influential they are. They also kept a genius level for almost 20 years. Compositionally speaking they are way above any black or death metal band I've heard. Any open minded person trained in classical music would appreciate their song structures and melody creation skills. Their prowess to generate cohesive pieces of music with so many chaotic elements is nothing short of incredible. No wonder Luc Lemay love them so much...

Tbh I think Long Defeat was just somewhat of a misstep. I'm doubtful it means some irreproachable plummet.

returning to read this blessed thing (“carrion of clunge” is one of my favorite turns of phrase in recent memory) to ease the disappointment of the long defeat.

Yeah, I'm over the disappointment of Defeat now. Was stuck on it for a couple days there. lol New IT and Thantifaxeth will probably rip but DsO put me in a mood to not have expectations.
