close, but no cigar

there's a chance it may succumb to my ongoing 'rating realignment program', can't think of anything I have rated this highly that I've listened to less in all honesty

Great at what it does though, no doubt

I need to listen to this more tbh. I had not listened to it since their last release in 2021 which I was not too crazy about.

Their last release is really good in its own way, but there were some growing pains involved in their stylistic transition. I expect it to be fine-tuned on their next album.

This is still classic as hell.

Anyone knows similar bands to NTAs Symbology of Shelter? Really dig it. The mixture of mathy, blackened metalcore with post metal is smth else.

Also whoever did the extensive review here (https://www.sputnikmusic.com/blog/2020/11/18/post-metalcore-the-little-genre-that-could-part-i/) and the superb spotify playlist is a really nice person. I love Rolo Tomassi, NTA, Follow the White rabbit, amia venera landscape:>, but never knew you could them put into a genre, making looking for new stuff easier

[2] new Telos is in the same vein too but looks like you're already on that. Would also recommend MICO from last year.

Also, that person you're referring to is me! I'm glad you enjoyed the post, and hopefully you discovered some cool stuff through it.

Maybe some Pale Ache too! Not fully blackened but you could find a similar appeal for sure

WRVTH is tossed into these discussions on occasion too, the album to jam would be No Rising Sun.

Me and botb got ALL them recs!

Haha i love oathbreaker, rheia is something else. , Gonna listen to some pale ache (atm its Plebeian grandstand - lowgazers on repeat lol), thanks for rxs

edit: wrvth kicks ass. should add i prefer screams (coreish or black metallish) to growls in most cases (excepting stuff like opeth, btbam).
