yeah it looks stylistically similar to ritual spirit and the spoils
im really curious what type of sound they'll go for

I'm glad they are releasing something but I'm not gonna lie, I'm a tad disappointed that it's not an LP
The promise when ritual spirit came out was that there would be two EPs leading up to an LP that year and all we got was an EP and a single.

"I always felt like it does. Even my teenage self in 2010 noticed a slow in bpm around the ~1:23 mark when del naja says "no wit-ness-uzz." Always told myself it probably was in my head but I also can't unhear it."
YO same thats funny lol

I'm gonna have to whip out the ol bpm calculator to finally put this to rest. Does it really slow down or is it just that fucking boring? Tune in next time to find out

"New EP titled Eutopia coming soon"
Hmmm, would have loved an album too, but this is still nice I guess.

Can't believe I'm saying this but new EP is trash. If the actual streaming versions of the songs have the preachy speeches on top of them as the youtube releases do, this is an easy 1. If not, it's still worthless but I'd feel comfortable giving it a 2.
It feels like MA has become an outlet for its members to exclusively vent their political messages through some sort of audiovisual medium as opposed to the band being centered around creating a worthwhile sonic musical experience. I hope this is not the future for them tbh.

what are the messages? i remember them being p wholeheartedly involved with XR

Each of the three EP songs has a different message, one is about climate change, another about tax haven extraction and the third one about UBI. The problem isn't the messages but the fact that they completely dominate and overwhelm the music, with these preachy speeches covering 3/4s of each song. Furthermore the music behind them is weak as well, especially compared to the ritual spirit ep.

i'm all for them using their music as a political outlet esp in these times, but i agree that they better strip those messages out on the official release

those messages are the whole purpose of these so-called "songs", the music underneath the messages is nothing more than background music that lacks any of the substance their top material usually possesses.
like i said, this ep was just an outlet for them to vent their political ideas to a larger audience than just their social media followers

sounds awful
