I had them as a loser because although they filled a position of need, they went with OT6/7 on the board instead of CB3 on board (DeJean) which I think was a bigger need based on their recent defense. Plus I feel like everyone else in the division were winners which negatively impacts the Packers, especially the Lions drafting up before them to snag Arnold after they also poached Brian Branch last year.

yeah the expectations for caleb are gonna be sky high now. he already had a lot to live up to being 1st pick but snagging odunze (!!!) sheesh the microscope just magnified

Tbf at least Herbert has proven he can be a capable passer for a full season. I still don’t know what people saw in fields

For Saints fans, I'd say the 1st round was a success. Would have preferred Turner since by some miracle he fell to us but sometimes you have to take what you need most.

Really a battle between the Broncos and Falcons on who the biggest loser of the draft is.

i could see nix being a tua/purdy type game manager especially under payton. i see no path to penix being a good qb and even if he is the pick still is horrendous. bad release, old, injury history, late bloomer. i'd be on the ledge if i was a falcons fan.

i feel the opposite tbh i see penix becoming a decent player given he played in (iirc) a pro style offense. injuries is my main concern with him but i feel his play translates better to the nfl

nix on the other hand has prototypical oregon qb bust written all over him. dude had so many one read passes and i think nearly 1/3 of his passes were behind the LOS. i see him in more of a gadget role long term at best a la taysom hill

in fairness to the broncos they've been in qb hell for a while so idk what else you do but gamble on a qb. on the other hand the falcons are just goofy what a bizarre pick having cousins inked lol

to be fair college schemes are weird and hard to make projections from. lawrence and herbert also played in schemes that were screen dependent. that said i don't think nix is a great prospect at all just i could see him being a game manager.

penix just has so many red flags. he has a good deep ball but you need more than that. plus he was throwing to 3 nfl receivers at washington.

ehhh i think lawrence is woefully underwhelming lol very mid qb until proven otherwise. gonna be a fun draft class to come back on though. jj, penix and nix will provide much entertainment good or bad

Trevor makes a lot of mistakes but has also dealt with a cursed rookie year, a new system year 2, and Kirk getting injured for the back half of last year. Kirk drove that offense and has very good chemistry with Lawrence and is his top 3rd down option so that’s why they tanked in December last year. Not to mention like a dozen+ dropped/catchable TD passes that WRs (mainly Ridley) botched throughout the year.

You also have to consider that Trevor being a top 13 QB is the best the team has had since probably Garrard? Everyone always looks for the year 3 jump, well this is his true year 3 and they are building well around him. He did win a playoff game which is more than most QBs can say, he just has astronomic expectations behind him. Jags fans are patient and as long as he doesn’t regress, he will be the guy long term there.

agreed of course lol. jags were also the one seed before kirk died and lawrence dealt with three injuries. he was in full command of that offense. he also has never had a true deep threat and now has gabe davis and thomas. he will show out this year. jags are at about +270 to win the south, invest now!
