after all, runner, mission, cross the sea, blessing, early morning waiting, immunity, miracles (came around to this one), and forgive are all really excellent. no bitterness is cool too, and ain't it easy fits the album but i haven't warmed up to it yet. feel the same with headroom piano. took a couple listens to really warm up to the overall sound. the album has much better thematic coherence than this (or most of his albums for that matter) and overall it's a beautiful record. the only miss for me is s.d.o.s. really don't know what he was thinking with that one, utterly fucking terrible song

seems he’s in his wistful, “happy” era which is ironically more depressing to me than any of his blatantly sad stuff lol. can’t wait to listen again

I think after all might be my favourite. And yeah it's definitely more cohesive and that wistful nature lends it a certain sadness and I really dig that. Definitely not as immediate as this one, and it doesn't have songs as catchy as southern sky, but I will say this: the mid section of this album is kind of fucking garbage, and I coint only one blatantly shit track on the new record
