by now I’d think this would be way higher than a 3 on here... how could this possibly be their lowest rated album? these are Alex’s best lyrics and some of the things that happen musically are just breathtaking. and somehow this is their most fun record too? just brilliant.

I can't think of a record in my life I flipped so hard on after I "got it". It went from being such an annoying, lame, gimmicky record to one of my favorites of all time. Fantastic satirical lyrics from Alex, great orchestration of the music, and an interesting concept. Truly rewarding to those who pay attention to it, can't believe it's rated as low as it is.

Nope, their previous album was
I want in your face Arctic monkeys songs, not pole dancing songs.

I wish I could do to AM the same thing that people did with the ET game cartridges and erase that shit from the map.
|
| |
at the least i gotta respect how far of their comfort zone they are willing to push themselves, i love the unapologetic cheese, also the title track sounds dank as fuck

This is the album that I GUARANTEE you, we will be having all sorts of people on this site and elsewhere pretending in 5-10 years that they were huge fans of immediately, that they 'got it' despite rating it a 1 on here and calling it 'utter shit', etc. I've liked AM for a long time but this is something else, entirely. Hard to even compare it to their earlier work as it feels almost like a different band at times.
Also the mix on this album on the vinyl is epic.
