All they've said is the new album will be nothing like their previous work and they'd rather make a bad album than repeat themselves - should be interesting but get the feeling it'll be a long wait yet

I Should Live In Salt might just be my fave National song.

Aren't they going electronic? I definitely heard that somewhere unless it's just a ruse by the band

They said an electronic influence and something more 'math-y'

Get the feeling they'll want to mix things up rythymically most of all, would also pep up the live show

Haven't heard much El Vy. Video I saw was good. Are they really worth checking or should I just wait for a new National album?

The El Vy project basically sounds like a more upbeat version of this band. It's not as brilliant as The National, but still fantastic. Lyrics are great of course, and very funny sometimes.

I didn't have much interest either even though I liked the song I heard. Seems like more of a novelty than anything to take serious, but maybe I should check them out more before writing it off.

Any fan of The National should give it a chance, all the real life ones I know love it.
