^^^^ Yep. Easily their most accessible records. And honestly I would just say All We Love. It’s got a lot more clean vocals (by this bands standard anyways).

fucking page break

Maybe I will do All We Love first then. I have heard their whole discography before, but they never really click as I mentioned previously. I do want to give them another fair shake since it's been a good year since I last checked them out.

Axe to Fall is the one that converted me after struggling for years to "get" this band anytime I listened to Jane Doe

Jacob’s screams are definitely a little more clear on these later records too, as opposed to the barks and growls on No Heroes and Axe to Fall

Jacob is certainly much less feral sounding now lol

yeah All We Love has a lot of of the yell-y chant-y stuffs than the earlier records. Less monster-sounding lol

I think my problem is I always seem to start a relisten with Jane Doe, so I guess I'm setting myself up for failure each time

I didn't learn to like Jane until I had learned to like Axe, AWLWLB, and YFM. Jane clicked a few years after, so it's been a pretty long journey

Yeah listening to Jane or anything before it first is like jumping in the deep end without learning to swim lol

All We Love and The Dusk In Us are the easiest records for Converge beginners IMO.
After that probably You Fail Me and Axe to Fall

Ya honestly scratch that, Dusk is definitely the easiest to get into. Especially if your main hang up is Jacob. There’s clean vocals all over that record.
The only thing that makes me think maybe All We Love is that Dusk has a few songs that are a little out there for them. The title track is slowburn for sure but it’s basically a post metal track with clean vocals, not really something they’ve done before unless you count Grim Heart and Wretched World, which both have guest vocalists. Thousands of Miles Between Us is like a doomy alt rock track. Murk and Marrow is just weird.
All We Love is definitely more traditional for the band, and I say that as someone that fucking loves that record.

Jamming The Dusk In Us now, and i'm shocked. Without the fatigue of starting with Jane Doe, I'm enjoying it more than usual.
