RYM is very unreliable when it comes to pop imo

rym hasn't been reliable for anything with more than 500 votes for at least 2-3 years now tbh

If we froze RYM scores in 2019, the world would be a better place.
The worst offender is The Black Parade being a 3.84/5 there. Christ, the average ratings on this site are way higher, and we're the one with roots in 2000s pop punk/emo fandom, and it's still lower here!

There are a few albums that RYM is rating higher than here these days — Black Rider by Tom Waits among them. Intensely strange, given that Sputnik generally overrates releases by like .5 compared to rym. Interesting to see the tables of elitism turn; where once RYM was undeniably more pole up the ass pretentious than the populist and base Sputnik, I think that’s shifted in the last five years.

What the 'ck are you smoking when you say it's a terrible album and you have to develop a taste for it like Whiskey?! I HATE WHISKEY

Nurture is one of the best releases of its year; such a deeply personal cathartic celebration of an album. Sputnik average is too low if anything.
