Oh the tragedy of listening to an album for the first time and noticing your rating's wrong, haha
Will probably bump this down soon

Yup, hardly any lasting power.

Gave it quite a few listens, I'd probably call it a 3.8 for me. Somehow my experience with PoS until now was just hearing the name of the band thrown around and knowing their vocalist guested at Ayreon's 01.
First time playing album opening track hit me like train. After some time I can safely say it's a good song. Not a brilliant one but surely good. Full Throttle Tribe shines the brightest on the whole album. Silent Gold is surprisingly relaxing, like that feeling before mentioned earlier djenty mdfcker.
I agree though, album is too long and draggs a bit. Reasons is one of the most annoying songs I've heard in prog metal in a while, Angels of Broken Things doesn't really present anything special or interesting except a single guitar solo, you could safely cut the half of the song and reach the same result.

If this is your first PoS record, I recommend checking out Remedy Lane. Not too insane about these guys but that one is a masterpiece

@RikRoach7
Slowly checking out Be now as from what I've heard its their most ambitous album. Didn't seem so amazing afetr the first listen, gonna play it tommorow few times with lyrics in front of my eyes (I'm expecting the 'philosophical' part to be as good as some praise it for. I love that shit if it's executed correctly).
After Be I'll probably start exploring other albums. Few days ago I gave a single listen to Scarsick which seems (looked at ratings&reviews) to be yet another album having trouble with it's own good quality vs style not enough of band's previous albums.

I'm a Remedy Lane, TPE guy too but I loved this album since the first time I heard it.

Be is definitely their most ambitious release, but it chokes on it imo. Too much concept, not enough album. The lyrics are admittedly very good though. I am extremely interested in all things philosophy (been studying it for 4 years now) and it's pretty good in that regrard. Iter Impius is also maybe their best song. In all other aspects, Remedy Lane is far ahead of it imo

AOTY. After 18 months of listening to this classic, I can call it a masterpiece. Undoubtedly his best album.

I still enjoy this from time to time, but its flaws are too obvious imo. This album does either hit me hard or just bore me. There isn't much in between for me, it's weird

Reasons is a banger, I can really feel the anger. From Siƶent Gold this is very consistent

Silent Gold might be my favourite after Truesday. It's simple, slow and displays Daniel's vocal skills not only in power songs.

Yea, Silent Gold is really touching, especially that line: "One you asked me, baby: 'How do you roll with god?' God? God is what we do now."
Also the title track kills me every time.
