This is a modern prog masterpiece. Someone probably already mentioned this but Dark Charade reprises a lyric from Scissorlips.

im really glad they made the bass more audible and prominent because thats the one and only thing i didnt like about feathergun, you couldn't hear bass at all

I love this musically, but my gear shines a spotlight on the abysmal production. I just can't listen to it because it sounds so flat and lifeless. I'm going to have to go into Audacity and re-equalize every track...ugh.

Interesting opinion. what would you consider to be an album with perfect production and EQ?

Like, what? Abysmal is a very, very harsh word dude. It's not all perfect in terms of production and some of the instruments are a bit low in the mix sometimes, but it overall doesn't sound bad to me.

At least we know why Alondite doesn't jam anything before the '90s. They didn't even record on computers back then, so the production must be beyond abysmal!

rishloo never had great production, and its always been really easy to look past that with their songwriting skills

They don't have the money for great production*

Honestly, I liked the production on Feathergun, but the production on this irks me at times. Generally I can overlook it, though.

the production is meh sure but its not bad. eidolon is the only rishloo album ive heard where the production has really hindered my appreciation of the songs.
speaking of the songs, these get better with every listen. "Landmines" is amazing. sometime soon i will get round to reviewing this. and the new steven wilson. see if i can get even more negs than the last one did.

Someone on the Rishloo fan page actually said that my review lost a little credibility when I said that Eidolon's production isn't for everyone. Like seriously, stop kidding yourself. Even a true fan like myself can easily admit that the album's production is pretty damn lo-fi at times.
