If only the middle of Side B punched its weight this would be a 4 out of 5

Yeah, I gotta do a relisten to confirm it. I jumped on the bandwagon with Boxer, so I don't have a lot of time with this one. Must rectify.

The highs on this are so fucking high agreed.

Probably spin it more than any other Ntl tbh.

Yep, staying at a 3.5 for now. But a surprisingly high one, it's really really really painfully close to a 4.0.

No, if I don't maintain my stupid rating system for every album, it all falls into chaos:

The bookends are where it's at.

Wouldn't say this is top 3 National, but it's a strong album nonetheless.

This album's really, really good. One of their best.

Slipping Husband, 90 Mile Water Wall, Cardinal Song, Available and Lucky You are all top notch. But Sugar Wife, Trophy Wife, Fashion Coat and Patterns of Fairytales are pretty shit. And they’re all consecutive, which really screws the flow of the album. If those songs were on par with the good songs here, the album would be a 4.5.

I like the last four songs on here quite a bit, especially Lucky You.

I hated Fashion Coat at first, now I just enjoy its silliness
