I'm 20 and I still enjoy Deja Entendu, just not as much as before. I guess this and Deja trades scores for me.

At 27 I do enjoy it but it's a much different listen so to speak. It had its time an place.

Anyone else think that the second half of this creams the first?

I wouldn't say it creams it because it's all good, but I do prefer the latter portion. So many creepy vibes, yet so hauntingly beautiful.

it almost feels morally wrong to me to enjoy deja. it's so superficial and fake, it's everything i hate about my teenage self in an album. ever since i saw them live i've been completely confused about this band anyway. tdag is so sensitive and careful and their performance was just unmusical noise with god diddly damn awful vocal and instrumental execution. i do love their last 2 records though

I think the fact that Deja Entendu is so self-aware makes it redeemable in that sense. It's just generally not what I like to listen to. The Devil and God is a very exhausting listen and I usually just want it to end when I put out on.

Daisy is perfect.

I actually think Daisy is a more exhausting listen than TDAG

I never mind the challenge though

I have to agree that they were pretty lame live. Musically all over the place, god-awful fans ruining anything good about the show, way too loud and muddled, and too many songs from the first two albums. And Jesse Lacey seriously needs a hug.

I seem to like the more abrasive nature of Daisy more than anything else they've done, and the epic moments are some of my favorites. Particularly Bought a Bride.

This and TDAG are both still great. Someguest was spot on with the In Utero comparison for this record, which is a big part of why I love it.

Storm is totally right as well about Deja - absolutely unlistenable garbage. I disliked it when I was young, and hate it now.

I gotta jam some more Nirvana. I actually started listening to Bleach the other day and was digging it pretty hard.

The fans were definitely awful when I saw these guys live a few years ago, but the band itself was pretty good. I remember they divided the set in half - the first part they played their back catalogue, which was mixed since they definitely played too many from the first two albums. The second half they played this whole album, which was cool.

I would kill to see all of Daisy live.

And yea I'll check all the Nirvana that doesn't have a naked baby on the cover.

I almost got exactly this. Saw them ~early '10, I don't remember the set list song-by-song or anything, but they opened with Vices and went straight into Sink (which ruled btw), then did Sowing Season and Degausser, then played pretty much all of Daisy minus Noro (and had a few TDAG tracks thrown in like Limousine and Jesus). I think they only played like 1 or 2 from Deja/YFW combined.

The guitar line in You Stole is one of my favourites of all time.
