Britt has one of the most distinctive voices in indie rock and spoon are one of the few bands imo who have such a singular sound. a "spoon song" is its own thing. think Jim Eno has a lot to do with that

I think you should (if you haven't) try Girls Can Tell and Kill the Moonlight at least before you cast the final judgment on Spoon, those are some of their best and you do have Ga 3.5d so I could see those being 4s for you possibly... or they could be 2.5s, who knows.
