burn out brighters' preachy intro/chorus is so cringe-worthy. It keeps this from a 5

that's like one of my favorite parts.

"Breaking" became an instant classic for me the first 10 seconds I heard it. There are probaby 5 very strong tracks on this record, "Breaking," "Dissapear," "Feel Good Drag," "The Resistance," and "Burn out Brighter" are all great. "Breathe" is a nice quintesential ballad. The rest I could take or leave, but these days 6 good tracks on an album is a bonus.

A decent point. I'd probably include "Younglife" as well, though; something about that tune just makes me happy

apart from 'feel good drag' and 'disappear' this is nowhere near as good as cities tbh.

rumors about new anberlin album include "less poppy, darker, experimenting with time signatures, going in a cities direction"

dream come true, they can still make their masterpiece

When are they going to drop another album? This year or the next? I can't believe you have New Surrender at 3...

fin's definitely in my top 10-15 songs of last decade. Also, I heard September of this year as well.

I've heard all of their albums and seen em live. This is my fave. Guess I'm a sucker for the catchier shit.

Some great songs here but a few duds as well. I always found never take friendship personal to be a bit more poppier though.

I think we can all agree that Christian rules as a vocalist.

NTFP is sadly underrated compared to this because the first 2/3 of that album destroy this.

Meh, I listened to it again, the opening 5 tracks are great but it really trails off after that. Still weaker then NTFP/Cities.

I never really cared for ntfp, i always prefered bfbm and cities, this i didnt love either. I really wish they would've stayed with tooth and nail.
