you guys need to brace the Sylosis, at least they aren't just blatant 80s rip offs like Evile, Havok etc.

cant really compare i mean this has those shitty modern metalcore type riffs mixed in with trems so people dig it for some reason, without the trems this would just be another generic modern metal band that no one cares about but a few 0000's and holy shit THRASH IS SAVED

yeah i see what you mean, metalcore influence has pretty much gone by this album, but its loads of those slaughter of the soul riffs that all the metalcore bands use as well.

yea true but on that album that type of riffing was actually done well, all these less talented bands who took that style just raped it to fuck, but hey all the 15 year old metal heads dig it so what do i know!

they hadn't even heard of Death. i showed one of them some old school DM like Autopsy and Morbid Angel and they thought it was shit, i don't know they like Sylosis though... which probably means Sylosis isn't as good as i think they are

Might be since I had heard Demolition Hammer before Morbid Saint, but they seem a bit lacking when compared to Demolition Hammer. Not really something I can explain why, just found them a bit underwhelming. Of course, it may have something to do with expectations while going into it for the first time.

Also note that I gave The Divine Wings Of Tragedy a 3.5 and Trinity Overture a 5, while Overture is basically Wings with a fuckload of keyboard wank.
