I'm really happy I stopped investing in this group after Deceiver. Bands been a a downward spiral since the very start

While I appreciate the songwriting, production and singing chops on the new album, I severely miss this album's style from the band. There was lingering promise from some of the albums post Deceiver, but after the latest single it's thoroughly proven to me that none of their future work will hit the same high notes for me.

Yeah, band (Telle) refusing to play anything off Deceiver or Empire ever again touring is a not so subtle cry: "WHY DONT YOU GUYS LIKE MY NEWWW MUSIC?? ("

Never was much a fan of his cleans, but at least the music was good.

I've always loved Telle's vocals, but they've gotten significantly worse both singing and screaming since after Real came out

^^ real shit. he could actually SING - like belt shit out- on the early stuff, but his voice seems a lot weaker nowadays despite him also talking about how he takes care of his voice

Word. REAL was the last decent thing this band has released. Everything after that has been hot doo doo.

Band lost me at Life Cycles which also happened to be released right when I graduated high school ... might be a correlation there.

Telle: All our fans prefer the new stuff

Literally everyone: We prefer the old stuff

Telle sees a minority of people say they like the new stuff and he just assumes that means everybody likes it. And if you don't like the new stuff then you're stuck in the past because the new stuff is 'better'

It's the furthest thing from 'better'. The newer stuff is actual dog shit and I don't say that about a lot of music.

THIS. I went to the Deceiver anniversary tour to relive my warped tour days and for the encore they played 3 new songs and the crowd stopped listening and started leaving lol the energy was clearly gone from the room.

Band has sucked ever since the original bassist (Urlacher) and keyboardist (Dusty) left ... really makes you wonder if they were the real genius behind the sound!
