to be fair this probably is their most immediate ‘solo’ album outside of the latest one (which simply isn’t as good), so I can see why someone might prefer it

Salvation has perfectly balanced ebb and flow, such an immersive journey. SATH is pretty damn close too.

The syncopated section of Inland Rain, followed by the whole band returning at the end, still hits so hard. Timbre of the drums is pure ear candy from an engineering point of view, too.
