this is a hostage situation sticks out to everyone cause its one of the first tracks that they heard and its so in your face and has some really cool transitions and discordance
BUT monday morning quarterbacks is the best song on heat death all things considered. the lyrics are some of the best ever written
however, the lyrics on this are just on an entirely different level. theyre so good. so polished, so perfectly melded together that you cant separate them into distinct parts, its all one idea, like the organs of a body. this is the culmination and ultimate assimiliated product of everything off minor was trying to do with their career. if this is how they end it, its a fucking good way to end it.

as someone who listened to ATRU by CTTS when it first came out and was a skramz punk kid for the whole of my teens (also liked no wave and ambient and shit but w/e), i can say that this is the only emo record that still gets me like emo got me in my teens. hell, this album is even better now that im approaching my mid 20s
