Notorious anti-jewish movement is a long standing issue, that plagued ukrainians for quite sometime. I know this very well, funnily enough even in my family this goes to shit - my gf is half ukrainian (by her father), and he totally refused to communicate with me or my family because of that (i am of Jewish origin). Even famous Jewish town of Odessa is now empty. Banderovites were scum even for SS fighers, you can find german journals and many other stories about german soldiers horrified by banderas thugs. Make up soviet.. bullshit. I have nothing to do with soviets, in fact they've never done anything good to soviet people. But bandera was not a happy charade entertainer either. Both were of radical hatred towards some minorities. Well, lgbtq people should know this very, how is it to be treated just because you are physically different than natives. Sadly, Jewish people know this very well too. I had many problems because of my origin living here. Ultimately i left the country for good, too much bullshit because i was of a wrong blood.

There is a fine point, where bands do not cross in to the politics and othe shit, look at DSO. I can relate and listen to them, thanks to their apolitical statement and anonymity. On other hand these guys were confirmed nazis and known in their community for radical shit, also their titles and song names are related to some of their "heroes" and deeds, which is not the case with DSO. So this band is some fuckin ugly straight up nazis and anti-jewish scum, a case they never declined, but declared. If you like these bands - this is truly your choice. Just don't cry if some of this scum to fuck with you someday, only because you had different appearance than them. I mean if someone, like Sevengill will show up on their white pride marches through Ukraine, I really dont wanna see the consequences of such an action.

Drudkh has publicly disavowed extreme politics for years now, which is...just enough for me to listen comfortably to their music.

on the other hand, I mostly stopped listening to DSO once I learned about Aspa's child porn ties, which seems much more real and inexcusable to me than quoting controversial poets. but then again, I'm just a dumb American drawing lines in the sand.

I might have another view on this if this would hit home closer for me. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

I like you guys, being calm and sensitive is always a best idea. We might just have too much difference when it comes to perspective: you are mostly US origin people, living under different sun and practicaly very opposite type of political system. On opposite side there is some jewish guy, living in post soviet era, where is entire and very different civilization collapsed thirty years ago with it's moral and civilian system lost forever. I very well know the difference because i lived in US for some time, while i am not sure if any of you've lived in post soviet country at all. Any type of such collapse always brings some of the old trauma back, which was disintegration of Kiev Rus and anti-communist rebellion inside of an Ukraine.

Because it's an european country with very weird judicial system. You can get your child taken off by the system because someone noticed a small bruise on his/her leg somewhere in the school, while a guy shooting 80 people gets 21 year in prison with playstation and fitness program. Or killing someone cold handed by the knife just because he was a gay person gets you around 9 years with possibility of writng and recording some music and much more (Faust of Emperor).

Aspa has plenty of shadily themed side projects. Most of them involving BDSM and extreme porn, including a child abuse-themed noise project. He allegedly claims it's to shock and to test the outer boundaries of legal art. Don't think he's a verified nonce (that would've probably came out by now), but it's definitely dodgy to say the least.
I still love DsO and his label has/had bands on the roster that I very much like as well (Mgla, Drudkh, Walknut, Unholy...to name a few) but there's also plenty of stuff on there that's like bottom-tier NSBM. Gotta admit my personal "separate art from the artist" view has been tested more than once with this...

I live in Western Europe. Obviously never lived in a post-Soviet country, but I grew up around a few Chechen guys in my old neighborhood. There's also a few Georgians and Armenians here. I know there's definitely "history" - in more ways than one - in that region.

Considering all the BLM stuff goin on in US, the band like this praising killing people not of their color (the whites dont consider jews "white") would run for their lives in US.
