the songwriting could be a lot better, and a lot of the hooks / riffs aren't catchy enough. that about sums it up

Sitar did make his point a while back. Bottom line, music IS very subjective. I think i know what he felt like when underlining that fact. That's what i feel like doing when i see people going "shit band" on a thread. When someone wants to have a real discussion and everybody seems willing to simply hate on a band, it can get pretty frustrating.

Just saying

dudez have as tenuous a grasp on smooth-flowing rhythm and composition as almost every other Meshuggah-cribbing outfit

there's also a disparity between their 'self aware', 'semi-parodical' sound that jumps frequently and jarringly in tone (with all the harsh/clean vocal switching and riffs twitching spastically from jun-jun omgsoheavy to weedlyweedly lolarentwereallyspacey fret fingerrape, often multiple times in a bar) and the obviously serious-business, spottily-written lyrics

well that said the lyrics and music both sound mawkish as hell so i guess that's one common link they share

tl;dr shit's annoying
yay opinions

lol oltna, you know i didn't meant that. Won't feed the fire going on about this matter, or it will happen again like a while back, everyone going "ha there saying they're good, that's subjective too, your logic is faulty" and shit so yeah, for further reference, go like 3 pages back and see what sitar said. Only someone unwilling to understand wouldn't get his point. Unwilling, or retarded. haha
