"Is your friend a lion?"

One of 'em. I kept up more with my zebra and hippo friends over the years, though. No idea where the giraffe is.

We could use a new album, Hopesfall and Converge in one year would be a great time for metalcore

That old-school sound needs to keep alive

awlwlb is great but has some sequencing issues, could probably cut a track or two as well

jane doe is perfectly sequenced

Jane doe is fantastic but some of the songs are just whatever. Phoenix in flight does absolutely nothing for me, and a few others whose names I can't remember. I like the variety their last two albums have, and the dark sludgy atmosphere on this. Jane doe starts to sound homogeneous after a while

I think the weakest part of Jane would be the stretch Homwrecker - The Broken Vow - Bitter And Then Some - Heaven In Her Arms. It's too many songs in a row with too little variation in style in between them. Granted, I still love Jane Doe, but if I'd critiscize it for anything, it's the slight repetitiveness of style/tone/feeling between those tracks.

The first four songs going into Homewrecker are perfectly sequenced, because there is enough variation that it never gets boring.

Phoenix In Flight / Flames is where it takes off again, it's such an atmospheric and good track. And the last two tracks are the greatest things ever.

This is my fave Converge but JD is a classic too.

Both completely different albums tho.

Lelle - exactly. It's very samey in certain sequences. That stretch from home wrecker to broken vow I'd extremely repetitive. My first few times listening I had a hard time differentiating tracks

I always find it interesting how everyone tends to have their own 'flavor' of Converge

Jane Doe ofc has the highest average, but I see a lot of people 5ing this, Axe, All We Love, etc.

Yeah they really diversified their sound in later albums. Seems there's something for everyone

This album totally deserves higher than a 4 avg though.

I mean, I've seen some albums make crazy avg. climbs over time

Maybe we'll see this get that 4.1 someday

I could see a spike in the coming years since the redux came out. Seems people are starting to appreciate this more even since I've been on the site.

I actually much prefer the original. I think the remastered version ruins some of the songs- especially the title track

"JD is best and AtF/AWLWLB are tied for 2nd"

this exactly, with this album just behind Atf/AWLWLB
